Basic Needs provision for the Borough across six batched Primary Schools.
Appointed by Hillingdon Borough Council, and subsequently novated to the Contractor. Facing a major issue of a bulge in population the Authority had to quickly address the need for additional pupil places and this required anything between one and two extra forms of entry at each school
Client: London Borough of Hillingdon
Value: $15.1m
Status: Completed 2010
The requirement was to carry out an assessment at each of the existing schools and develop design proposals for the remodelling, refurbishment, extension or complete new build. The schemes were developed in consultation and discussion with the Schools and Hillingdon Capital Projects and Children’s Services and subsequently with a design and build contractor who further added value and efficiency to the project.
The works to the schools have generally been undertaken in two phases with new build areas completed prior to the remodelling works and these have included extensions to all the support functions in the schools such as the Hall, Dining and storage facilities.
